Orbit World Travel Wellington has an opportunity for someone to join our team as a Trans-Tasman/International Travel Consultant based in our Orbit Massey office, located on the Massey Campus in Palmerston North.
You will be working as part of our International travel team in Wellington to support the travel needs of our government and corporate clients around New Zealand. We are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about travel, has a can-do attitude, and prides themselves on going the extra mile for clients by providing them with excellent customer service.
This role is Monday to Friday with no weekend work. You have the support of a large team of highly skilled travel consultants as part of the wider Orbit travel team. Please contact us to discuss what options we can offer you!
About this role:
Your main responsibilities will be to:
- Work collaboratively with our International team to provide excellent travel plans to our clients.
- Research is carried out and quotations/confirmations use client-specific information to ensure their needs and budget are met
- Ensure accuracy of all information relating to quoting, confirmations or client profiles
- Understand and work with our preferred travel providers to research competitive travel for our clients
- Produce travel documentation, in conjunction with our team processors such as itineraries
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure 100% accuracy
- Assist the finance team with accounting queries relating to the international travel
- Keep up to date with developments in the travel industry and attend product seminars and sales calls to maintain and increase professional knowledge
About you:
To be successful in this position, we ask that you have:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a corporate travel consultant
- Some knowledge of travel products and a proven sales record
- A high level of attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and keep your cool during peak periods
- A positive outlook and passion to achieve great results
- Ticketing experience (including reissues) and experience with using Amadeus is desirable
- Ability to easily understand and navigate technical systems unique to our business.
